Regarding whether sealing rings can be washed in a dishwasher, simply put, most modern kitchen appliance sealing rings (such as those in electric pressure cookers) are dishwasher-safe. However, to ensure their longevity, there are a few details to keep in mind:

→ Why most sealing rings are dishwasher-safe

High-temperature resistance: Common sealing rings are usually made of food-grade silicone, a material that is very heat-resistant. The hot water temperature in a dishwasher is usually not a problem for them.
Convenient sterilization: The high-temperature washing and drying functions of a dishwasher can more thoroughly remove residual food odors and grease from the sealing ring, which is more hygienic than hand washing.

Placement: Even if dishwasher-safe, it's recommended to place the sealing ring on the top rack of the dishwasher. The temperature at the top is usually slightly lower than the bottom and further away from the heating element, preventing overheating and deformation.
Always remove it: Don't put the entire lid directly into the dishwasher; always remove the sealing ring from the lid and wash it separately. If it's still stuck in the lid's groove, the dishwasher's water flow will have difficulty cleaning away dirt hidden in the crevices.
