Installing a sealing ring isn't difficult, the key is patience and ensuring it's fully seated in the groove. Here are some easy-to-follow steps to help you get it right:
Content
→ Preparation Before Installation
▫ Check for cleanliness: Before you begin, check if the sealing ring and the groove on the lid are clean. Food residue or grease can cause slippage or improper sealing during installation.
▫ Check for damage: Feel the sealing ring to check for cracks, deformation, or hardening. If it feels inelastic or damaged, it's recommended to replace it with a new one.
→ Manual Installation Steps
▫ Align the position: Turn the lid over and place the sealing ring above the groove.
▫ Press at multiple points: Find one point and use your thumb to firmly press the sealing ring into the groove. Then, press it in at the opposite side (180 degrees away).
▫ Cross-method fixing: Like the 12, 6, 3, and 9 o'clock positions on a clock, fix these four key points first. This prevents you from finding that you have excess or insufficient length at the end.
▫ Gradually push in: Use your fingers to gradually push the remaining part into the groove along the circumference. You can use your fingertips to gently push to ensure the sealing ring fits smoothly inside.
→ Final Check
▫ Circular check: After installation, run your fingertip along the ring. If you feel any bumps or unevenness, press down on that area again.
▫ Pull test: Gently tug on the sealing ring to see if it's securely seated in the groove. It should be able to rotate slightly but shouldn't easily fall out.
▫ Rotate the lid: Place the lid on the pot and try rotating it. If the lid closes smoothly, it means the position is correct.
→ Several Practical Tips
▫ Heating for tightness: If the sealing ring is too tight or hard to insert, you can soak it in warm water for a minute or two to soften it, making it easier to install.
▫ Alignment marks: Some seals have small markings or arrows; when installing, check if there are corresponding indentations on the inside of the lid.
